Sapuwa - Walt Disney: Resonance for trademark

The Pooh, Mickey mouse, Donald duck and other characters of Walt Disney cartoon world are going to appear in pure water line produced by Saigon Pure Water Company – Sapuwa. In first stage, Sapuwa will launched 1million bottles of 0,5l to survey customer, aim directly to teenagers as target customer. The combination of Sapuwa and Walt Disney is considered as a rather original trademark resonance, a new situation in “shaking hands” tendency of trademarks at present.

Sapuwa has been recognized as one of famous trademarks in Vietnam. Walt Disney is the 8th big trademark in global, with familiar products with children all over the world in generations. This brand name is in the process of entering Vietnamese market. Walt Disney had bargained with many bottled-drinking water enterprises to choose their partner as a part of their cooperated strategy, Finally, Walt Disney has chosen Sapuwa to sign the long contract in Vietnam.

Disney bottled drinking-water with lovable character images of famous cartoon world meet demand of finding new developments from 2 sides. “Sapuwa with Walt Disney brand name will create an amazing and colorful world, attract and satisfy young consumers as well as their parents” – Mr. Le Nhu Ai said.

In following stages, with the opening of Disney Corner stores and Disney Princess at HCMc, Hanoi, Can Tho, Da Nang…, Walt Disney will have many opportunities to popularize image in Vietnam. “These activities shall bring about strong development of Sapuwa with Disney trademark” – Mr. Ai stated. And according to Mr.Ai “ Sapuwa will be together with Walt Disney in joining TV programs, broadcast to introduce Walt Disney in Vietnam. And from now, Sapuwa product wshall be more well-known and Sapuwa trade mark value shall be improved”.

The contract between Sapuwa and Walt Disney is valid from April 1st 2007 and first serie of products will be launched in the end of May. The contract sphere will allow Sapuwa to use images of Disney, Disney’s Winne the Pooh strip cartoon, Toy Story I, II … characters. The minimum time for using is 3years. In first time, those images shall be used to manufacture products in Vietnam. Then, 2 parties will deploy in foreign markets.

         Due to careful research and choice, both 2 parties have satisfied the strictest condition from each other, so Sapuwa and Walt Disney also believe in good cooperation prospect. About Sapuwa, Mr. Ai analyzed: “Satisfying Walt Disney’s condition, it affirm strength of   Sapuwa trademark as well as quality of Sapuwa product. Thence, Sapwa will improve the competition with rivals in world market. At that time, our market will be expanded to further place and more well-known…”
