SAPUWA HELD THE MEETING “WORKERS AND LAWS 2016”

To encourage the labor union’s role, in October 14^th 2016, at head office – 683 QuangTrung, Go Vap district, HCM city, Saigon Pure Water Limited Liability Company (SAPUWA LLC.,) has held a meeting “Employee and law 2016” in order to improve employee’s legal knowledge, that helps them to protect their legitimate rights at work and in daily life.

Participants are labor experts from Labor Union, Department of Labor and Social Affairs, Go Vap district Judicial Department, City social insurance agency and Bar Association. Besides, from Sapuwa, Mr. Le Nhu Vu – General Director, Mr. Vu Nam – Company Labor Union Chairman, Mr. Nguyen ChanhTrung – Youth Union’ssecretary, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan Lan–Red Cross Union chairman, and managers of departments and distribution agents, also joined the meeting with more than 200 employees. In addition, there were reporters from the Worker Magazine and Go Vap News, to report this meaningful activity.

At the meeting, employees listened to Ms. Nguyen Thi Bach Yen – Go Vap district Labor Union chairwoman, presented main contents in Labor Law, Labor union law, Law on safety, and law on occupational health. Besides, she also presented and compared new policies with old ones about labor, social insurance, health care insurance, unemployment insurance, retirement welfare, and female welfare. These are useful information for employees to understand and follow labor’s laws, in order to protecting their benefits.

 Sapuwa’s members were so excited with direct and helpful explanation and response to their concerns and questions about salary, working hour, relaxing, sickness and maternity welfare, working discipline, and other related issues. In the meeting, the group also voluntarily guided and advised on other issues such as social spirit, love-marriage-family, ….to make the meeting was so lively.

All employees’ concerns and questions were promptly explained. Hence, the meeting is an effective chance for employees to raise their awareness to live and work legally.  Moreover, this meeting reminds enterprise to seriously comply with labor laws to eliminate conflicts, labor contracts violation, and strikes, thereby creating harmonious relationship, stability between enterprises and workers, actively contribute to the promotion of sustainable production and business.
