• The Container Library changed that: by simply reusing and renovating a shipping container into a green – modern – sustainable library, children can touch knowledge for the first time and read books that nurture their dreams.

A Persistent Journey of Sowing Literacy: Impressive Figures

Since 2018, the YBA - Container Library Project has embarked on a proud journey. The support of sponsors like SAPUWA has helped the project achieve impressive milestones, spreading knowledge to many localities nationwide:

• 12 Container Libraries have been built in various provinces and cities such as Đắk Lắk, Đồng Tháp, Bến Tre, Long An, Tây Ninh, Cần Giờ, and Ho Chi Minh City.

• 6,200 students directly benefit from the project.

• Over 23,500 books have been donated, along with modern learning equipment such as computers, Smart TVs, iPads, and library management software.

• Recorded over 612,000+ book checkouts – a number showing that hundreds of thousands of worlds of knowledge have opened up for the children.

Key Milestones in the Journey of Giving Knowledge

• Inception (2019): Library No. 01 at Lê Hồng Phong Secondary School, Đắk Lắk, serving 740 students with 1,500 books.

• Expansion (2020-2022): Continued construction in Đồng Tháp, Bến Tre (Libraries No. 03, 04), and remote districts of Long An and Tây Ninh (Libraries No. 05, 06, 07, 08, 09).

• Reaching Further (2023-2024): Library No. 10 flexibly installed at Doi Lầu Secondary School, Cần Giờ, HCMC. Library No. 11 in Lâm Đồng and No. 12 at Lê Văn Lương Primary School (Campus 2), Nhà Bè, HCMC.

Moving into 2025, the project prepares to welcome Container Library No. 13 at Nguyễn Văn Trân Primary School, Hưng Long Commune, Ho Chi Minh City. This is a significant milestone, not only extending the number but also affirming the vitality of the literacy-sowing idea.

From the 13th library, the project sets an ambitious goal: more book homes will be established each year, so that thousands of students can hold a book other than their textbook for the first time.
