SAPUWA RESPONDED TO “THE 8TH SUNFLOWER DAY”

“Sunflower” is one of the activities which belongs to program “Thuy’s Dream” – Tuoi Tre Newspaper has implemented since 2007. This is a program named of a young girl named Le Thanh Thuy. She was suffering from the bone cancer in her final stage. She had only one leg and got treatment by chemotherapy. Thuy and her friends gave their donation by walking with crutches to every sick-bed and gave presents to children who had cancer like her. It’s very difficult to relieve when someday we wouldn’t ever exist. It’s hard to be optimistic to face with cancer. It’s more and more difficult to think that we will do many meaningful things in remainder of life. On the contrary, Le Thanh Thuy really knew an unexpected day would come, but she still tried to live happily with the smile on her lips. She still was deeply attached to share with the peers and was optimistic to expect that there would have a miracle to disappear cancer cells. Thuy pulled back the time, fought cancer to do all meaningful things. More than anyone else, Thuy understood the pain of the evil cancer which was maltreating and seizing the patients. But then the doctors eventually gave up. In 2^nd November 2007, a Ho Chi Minh City’s citizen – Le Thanh Thuy “left” at twenty past four when she was only nineteen. Thuy said good-bye to life when her dream was unfinished: “She hoped that there would have an organization which support and help cancer patients.

Thuy’s past story was moved to tears. It stirred thousand hearts. Tuoi Tre Newspaper has continued carrying out her dream since Thuy said good-bye to life  in 2007. Every year, there is “Sunflower Day” for cancer children. It is annually hold in November to commemorate Thuy’s date of death and gather more and more concern, participation and support physically and mentally from community, and Sai Gon Pure Water Limited Liability Company (SAPUWA) is no exception.

When receiving information about The 8^th Sunflower Day (22^nd November 2015) with many activities such as: giving the scholarship for cancer children who recovered and went back to school, presenting gifts for cancer children who are treating in hospital, walking companion for cancer children in Ho Chi Minh City, implementing cancer children’s dreams, exhibiting and buying painting which cancer children drew… SAPUWA responded immediately by sponsoring SAPUWA’s bottled drinking water for thousand people who joined this program in both of Southern and Northern… This is our consecutive 8^th year anniversary (2007 à 2015), Tuoi Tre Newspaper has chosen topic Sunflower “For cancer children”.

There was eight years since “Sunflower” Le Thanh Thuy has rested in peace. There are still many children who have dangerous illness and don’t have enough money to receive their treatments. Some children recovered but they couldn’t go to school because their family didn’t have enough ability. “Sunflower Day” with topic “For cancer children” – Tuoi Tre Newspaper holds annually with donor’s help to support cancer children. This was an opportunity to show deep gratitude. Ceremony happened in Ban Nguyet Lake Park located at Phu My Hung New Urban Development (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City). Tuoi Tre Newspaper’s Editorial Director expressed thankfulness to Sai Gon Pure Water Limited Liability Company (SAPUWA) and other donors because “Accompanying by program Thuy’s Dream in eight years (2007 – 2015).
