SAPUWA SUPPORTED KHAI TRI’S OPENING HELP DEVELOPING MAINSTREAMING EDUCATION CENTER
To protect the human rights for children with disabilities (CWD) –they deserve the right to go to school, equality, non-discrimination, gender, ethnic, position of social economic, disabilities, Khai Tri Help Developing Mainstreaming Education Center was inaugurated and held the beginning of term in Cu Chi district in 19thAugust, 2015. It facilitated to CWD in school age have the opportunity to approach the education as normal children have. Moreover, it taught CWD not only to live independently but also become the person who contribute positively for the society. It helped CWD and normal children were get in tough with many different situations, built the steady foundation for an integrated society.
Ho Chi Minh City is one of the economic and cultural biggest center of Vietnam with more than eight millions people. Its economy develops firmly but it’s also a place where happens many social problems. Going for a walk around Ho Chi Minh City, we can see many healed people with an agile appearance or a woman carry the child in her arm but they still choose their job is a beggar. In other places, elderly man were amputated both legs and hands, moved with two stools still selling every lottery ticket happily… Daily newspaper and television reported many role models of CWD who attained outstanding achievements in learning. Our heart was filled with hope: there would be genius of music, art that are disability.
Therefore, howto do something out of charity in a meaningful way or how to recognize the love is misplaced and became a victim of swindle? “It is important not the thing you give but the way you give it” – what you give and when you give are both important. Only giving right people, right time, right place, charity activities will bring practical effects.
With the helpless people, the thing they need is to “fish” and not to “fishing rod”. With the people meet with an unexpected accident: disaster, flood…, in minutes they can lose everything. And then the thing they need immediately is to rice, food, clothes… When the hurricane passed, rebuilding houses, providing labor tools is important thing.
In CWD aspect, according to the thinking of many people, charity is the only way to help this miserable people. Some actions seemingly show the love and sympathy such as donating gifts, free college exam for blind candidates; in fact it just reinforces the discrimination with the disabilities. It consolidates the prejudice that they are only poor and unsuccessful people except from being helped specially.
In fact, the disabilities are fully capable to enjoy an independent life and self-respect that bases on human rights. CWD are able to go to school and play with the “normal children”. Actually, physical defects just make them to be determined to succeed and prove to people that CWD absolutely study as well as or better than other normal children. They can work and devoted to the economy as well as everyone.
According to the specialists, the disabilities are defected one or more body parts or reduced visual, hearing, motor, concentration, keeping in mind functions that are expressed as a disability. It makes the labor, living, learning difficult. This people can recovery as normal people if there is a true treatment and education. Mainstreaming education opened the gate to allow CWD to live their lives properly, independently, valuably in the society.
Establishing Khai Tri Shool is the action which brings profound socialsignificance. It gathered much concern, support materially and spiritually from the society, includedSaiGon Pure Water Limited Liability Company (SAPUWA).
Along witheffortsinproduction and businessactivities, sharing the responsibility with the society, including the target towards children, specially children have unfortunate circumstances is one of the most outstanding SAPUWA’s program for the community. It also becomes SAPUWA’s tradition. Because the company’s opinion is “Children today, world tomorrow”, the future of each ethnic closely relates to successor generation. Taking care of and teaching children is the priority policy which SAPUWA target, specially CWD… This is an indispensable part in SAPUWA’s business strategy.
Every year, for that reasons, Mr. Le Nhu Vu – SAPUWA’s General Director – donated about 10 percents of the profit to participate many activities of Training Center - The Association For The Support Of The Disabilities and Orphans Ho Chi Minh City founded and operated; HyVongShool… That is expressed in terms ofhuman rights, not in terms of humanitarian; they are objects for charity. Besides supplying free SAPUWA water according to demand’s schools, facilitating to CWD or orphans are studied, trained skills (supported more 100 tables for training center), SAPUWA company sponsored money, books… to donate the scholarship fund, vocational program, to appreciate CWD tried their best to study hard. This facilitates to CWD to fulfill their capabilities, eliminate inferiority, give them a leg up in their life. From the school roof, many children come in their life firmly, grow up to be an independent person, have stable job.
In occasion of beginning of the term, Board of Director of Khai Tri Center sent Dispatch of thanks to Mr. Nhu Vu supported and trusted Khai Tri Center. In the next time, SAPUWA will accompany with Khai Tri Center with beautiful hopes and dreams about the future of mainstreaming education in Vietnam.
